Healthy ways of living are what your soul guides you to, and they are the base for your life as a whole.

@harisinghnalwa1 Both yoga and Sikhi nourish, but neither are God. Ways of united w/ God,yes. Feel smug as you need to, but I think you better learn the teachings you pretend to have faith in, for you are the least Sikh like Sikh! Honestly! I think you are masterfully delusioned if you think you are w/ Nanek and can write such immature BS.

You should identify yourself with your positive feelings: when you enjoy life, you notice that you would enjoy having the world at such a good state: you are one in your likings with the voice of your soul - what a beautiful view to yourself!

Not, sure how you all got on marriage.....but I love this mantra!

Grrrr. My comment was a reply to one of harisinghnalwa1's posts below, but makes no sense alone. Guess I view romantic love, that grows and evolves, as being an important component and THE foundation of marriage.

It's a beautiful thing to marry someone some other person picked for you? Is there a chance to get to know that person, is there LOVE? Not universal love, but the love of one soul for another that can maintain a relation throughout difficult times?I find it less a social ill than the wrong way to meet a lifetime spouse. And I question how much independent FREE WILL and THOUGHT the "boys & girls" are allowed and developed enough to put into this committment decision. ALWAYS much 2 learn!

Also, let me correct one more thing - it is not just Punjabi Sikhs who have an aversion to Yoga, it is ALL SIKHS. Since you like to bring race and culture into the mix, there are plenty of white non-3ho Sikhs who do not adhere to Yoga. Oh, ask any of these 3ho's if they had a choice of keeping Sikhi or Yoga, see what they say. Most of these3HO's can't even distinguish the difference between the two. Sad and warped at the same time.

Even the Deras and other "dangerous" sects of Sikhism do not try to re-write our history. These Yoga practitioners, under the guise of being Sikh, are like a trojan horse. Yogi Bhajan even today is rejected by Sikh scholars as an authority in Sikhism. He is just a Yoga teacher who came to America to teach his trade. That is not opinion. That is fact. The fact that these people would LIE about the fourth Guru is why I feel the way I do about them "hijacking" MY faith.
harisinghnalwa1 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Why do I have a beef with 3HO Sikhs? Well, they are attempting to do something very dangerous to my faith. And that is re-write it. They make a frivolous and fraudulent and fictitious claim that the fourth Guru, Satguru Ram Das Ji was a practitioner of Yoga. This is F@#&*ng bullshit!!!!! Yoga was way, way beneath our Gurus and to make this claim is to portray the Fourth Guru as a Yoga master on the side which is not true and all Sikh institutions reject this notion.

I do understand his nature. When I meditate, I do so with him. There is no seperation between a Sikh and his Guru. Guru Nanak did not pass on his seat of power to his sons. Why? Listen, when you get there, you'll know what I am saying. And, listen, you will get there. I understand Guru Nanak's nature very, very well, as will you. Guru Nanak is no ordinary Guru. He is in everything. He is in my every thought. Do I know his nature? Bhai, I am soo happy you asked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
